Updating Flash (Selfprogramming) Using Bootloader & I2C EEPROM

I m working on Self programming AVR Microcontroller using Bootloader & I2C EEPROM
Language :- C
Tool - WINAVR & AVR Studio 4.

Problem statement is My Program code will be saved in external i2c EEPROM , I want to Transfer this Program code to Flash ROM of AVR using bootloader. I can interface i2c EEPROMs but -
step 1. I am new to write boot loader code and just read about its theoretical concept but not tried ever. Practical
So i need to assistance at step 1
Step 2. i read about SPM instruction for self Programming , but don't know implementation
Will go to Step 2 after completing step 1

I think you first need to understand how bootloader works. Take a reference from existing bootloader programs and go through the implementation to understand it. You can get many links if you just search for avr bootloader.
