I am using SIm900 Module and wants to send some data lets say any text in form of string of few bytes like "Hello!!" from it over GPRS to a TCP Server(which must be my PC)

I had done this successfully in office as they had provided me a public IP, but now at home i am not able get the response connect okay when sending the command AT+CIPSTART

I had read some where that all Private Ip Starts from 192.168.xxx.xxx but my ip is not a private ip as it is 182.168.1.38 when seen in Network Configuration.

And when i used Whats My IP to get my IP, it reports "125.63.118.161", but with both IP's i am not able to get any thing on my PC.
I am using HW Hercules software to receive data on my PC, it is having a TCP Server Tab in it, Just like TCP Test tool many peoples are using.

Can anyone tell me how can i solve this problem.

My Internet Connection is CityCom Internet previously Spectranet.

Please tell me how can i solve this problem.

You are behind a router and the only way to connect to your local PC is to setup port forward in your router to your local machine. If your ISP is providing you local IPs then its kind of impossible to connect. Its better to talk to your ISP and ask him to give you a Public IP not a local one.

You only need a PC with public IP. You can ask your friends if they have BSNL or other service provider. You can test over there.

Means there is no other way-out other than getting a public IP.
:-(

I had tested it in office and it works for sometime, around 2-3 Hrs but after that it stops communicating, may be due to weak network strength or something else.

That's why i want to test it at home.

I have a PC which is connected to a internet by broadband cable.
No router nothing else.

A cable from a pole outside my home comes to my home.
On that pole, i think there is a hub to distribute the internet to different persons.

Is there any other way to test GPRS communication.

One way is to use a free website and a PHP script.
Setup a PHP script to receive messages from your modem (as a server would),
and create a web page that displays that message.

Then you can view the changes as they happen in your browser.
It means learning a bit of PHP (quite a lot really ) but it's always useful.

There are plenty of free web sites around that offer PHP scripting.
