Receiving SMS

Hi all,

I m new to GSM , i m using sim900, i able to read the received sms through AT command s, my idea is not to scan /poll for the incoming sms each time ,so i need to know is there any way to notify the controller when new sms is arrived (like interrupt) ...

yes.. there is.. modem will send you +CMTI: SM,"index" where index is location where new sms has arrived. There is a sample code available in forum which I've provided for reading sms using interrupt routine.
