RGB LED Display

Hi,
i want to develop a small project could be like 8x8 or 16x16 RGB LED, to display icons, plz advise which IC is required to control RGB LEDs, i do my developments with PIC MCUs.

I dont know if there is any such IC available. Though you can get a IC to control single RGB LED but not a matrix.

there are few projects done using arduino.. You can search on google. But I doubt if they share the actual code openly.
