DSP projects on atmel avr

Hi,
I have ATMEL STK500 and STK502 kit and, AMTEGA169 chip with me. I would like to know if you can suggest any DSP projects that I can work on the avr kit. I am ready to purchse anything. I am new to DSP and would like to gain some practical experience along with some C/ASM programming experience for a DSP , on my own. My interests include Speech/Audio processing, though I am willing to work on any project.Please suggest me if you have idea of any projects fro a beginner. THanks in advance.

record sound in AVR and play it back.. good DSP project for beginner and worth to do
