auto answering circuit using 8051

i have replied you in the other topic.. and i don't think we really need 8051 for just switching on the answering machine
if you really want then.. its simple.. like one wire connected to 8051 via optocoupler can detect if ring is there.. and after say 3 rings.. you need to unhook the phone and activate the answering machine that can be done with the help of a relay circuit which is controlled by 8051.. hope i am not wrong.. i just gave u a rough idea.. so it will give u a head start
