hi,
I'm a student ,right now studying ur project," IR switch using TV remote controller"....
My question is ,can I use any Philips TV remote controller for this project..Hmmm , one more thing in market I get some local remote controllers which work on Philips TV...can I use them....??? How I come to know that, those controllers use RC5 protocol....kindly reply to my questions as early as possible.....
regards,
Lohi

Thanks for ur reply...:D
Now I got a new problem,Sensor 1736 is not available in the market :mad......Instead can I use 1736,does it affect the performance of the ckt ......kindly let me know the answer....

hi,
thanks for your replies,
But when I read the data sheet of 1738,in that they have mentioned, that it could be used even for RC5 protocol.1738 differs on carrier frequency(38khz) where as 1736 works on 36khz...may be I have to think about carrier frequency.. I'm not able to decide what to do :mad...kindly help......

Hi burger,
have u completed the hardware of IR PC remote? if yes try using 1738. if no pls try to complete it its easy and cheap.i have done this project using 1736 sensor. but i experimented with 1738 also and i found that some of them also working.:D.

well the thing is 1738 works for a reason that it only sense change in IR frequency but that is enough for us to decode the value. so with little manipulation in timings(hit and trial) i could finish this project.
so if you face problem like some of keys are working and some not the you only need to adjust the time between each bit reading.. adjust them to generate delay to get right values.
