thank u for the project ckt and hex files. i completed the projrct and the clock is working fine. but one problem. if u give 1 in the month it shows feb and rest of the month follow the suit. if u enter 12 it shows some garbage value. i think the is some problem with the hex code. pls check it out.

thanks for the new hex codes. the clock is working. but now i have a problem the display of my lcd is very light and pot isn't helping( only on ground does my lcd shows something). lcd is not at fault, thats sure. so could u pls help me out once again! can u suggest ways to brighten up the display.(i have 2 strain myself so much 2 view the display).

lol! dont cry... there are some version of HD44780 which need -ve supply at the.. contrast.. so better try.. connecting.. -5V instead of +5V with the POT. coz.. ur LCD need less voltage for contrast.. thats the reason.. at 0V you are atleast getting something. and dont cry

ok got it..but this is all about backlight.. i want the display to be darker(i mean the characters, date time etc). i feel it's some loose connection in the lcd. also i needed some information regarding the project .. u know i am making the report.. therefore any detailed information on the working will be helpfull..pls

the project idea is really simple.. works with simple loops in the main function..
ok brief description about the working of the program... seconds are incremented after every 1 sec.. and when it reaches 59 it becomes 0 again.. when it passes 0 minutes are incremented and when minutes passes 59 to 00 count it increments the count. when it reaches 12 it says pm and then 24 or 00 comes it says.. am.
and after every month count it can be 28, 29, 30, 31 depending on the month. it will change the day and the date.. every 24 hrs.. and when the month out passes it increments the month.. and when 12 month passes it increment the year..
thats how normal clock works..

Now with the big size characters.. i use the CGRAM area of the LCD. for more details on the CGRAM please read the datasheet of HD44780.. so.. i made 8 custom characters.. and with those 8 custom characters i made those big numbers.
