what is the difference Betwwen PIC16F84 & PIC16F84A

can we program PIC16F84A in PIC16F84..?

i have already a PIC16F84 programmer..is the codes of these 2 are same..?

didn't know 16F84s are still available, they are replaced by 16F628A. you can use same code of F84 for F84A. if in doubt check their data sheets.

but in this software PIC16F84, PIC16F84A and PIC16F628A can be listed separately

also guide me to a suitable programmer..

The 16F84A was the new silicon version for the 16F84, but both are out dead in the market. Instead of that you can make use of 16F628 or 16F628a which is the replacement for the 84 series,or u can look for 16F819 and 16F88 which is having more features like inbuilt A-D converter, oscillator.

and you can make use of WinPic800 which is the free programming software for various of the MicroChip PIC series.
