need help in multiplexing 16f84a

i need to have an output using 16f84a microcontroller to control 16 relays., any ideas what other electronic components will i use to make my project successful?

i thought the 16f84a was obsolete, replaced by 16f628a, anyway coming to your problem, you'll have to use transistors or better use darlington driver array ULN28003 to drive relays.

in case you are short of port pins on 16f84 then you can use serial in to parallel out shift register like 74Hc164 ( 2 of them) or use i2c port expander like PCF8574
