RFID

hyi..i currently doing RFID reader. the reader will connected to serial port and PIC will act as controller circuit. the problem is both PIC and RFID reader will be connected to a serial port. As far i know computer only have one serial port. anyone has suggestion or idea for this problem TQ

Connect the RFID's output to the PIC's serial Rxd and PIC's Txd to the PC serial port through MAX232.]
this way..

RFID --> PIC --> PC

If the PIC acts as controller what does the PC do. ?
You could create a second serial port in the PIC using software
and connect the RFID reader and PC to the PIC.

the PC will be run by VB6. it will record all the data. and for the PIC it will control the door or gate. when the code read from RFID it will sent to PC and VB6 will record the user data. then PC will sent signal to PIC to open the gate and display user info on the LCD
