hi i am planning to make a moving message display using led matrix..with the fuction of computer interface..
so i want to know that how to send the ASCII value to 89c51 using com port so it can update it's serial eeprom (mc24c16) and also recieve the same
i like to use VB as front end because of graphics

do you have any idea abou it so please share :-|

standalone display using at90c8515 was published in EFY magzine january 2005 in that project serial communication was used and the for avr microcontroller avr edit 3.5 software was used !
please try to see the rickey download page there is one project on serial communication

well if he wanna make it himself, we should help him achieving what he want. so instead of giving the ready made thing. help him in making that.

well its very easy to do that ritesh. i am attaching a VB code for generic Serial communication. you can edit it the way u want and design the front end.

yes it is true that i want to make it myself but...it it also ture that every invention need some base from best resources..to be perfect
so again thank you for your sugesstion..
and i am very happy to join this forum because
1) i think " to lern engineering and be engineer is very different"..this forum will help to improve practical skill..
