why dont you contact store or vendor where you bought modem from? I feel that antenna should be fine.

It looks okay. You have to be careful to get the right connector though.
The one you asked about is
Connector Type:SMA.
This is common ,but there are other sizes.

You will still need a "pigtail" to connect to the modem itself, such as this one

Probably...
The SIMCON connector is described as a Murata MXTK while the ebay item is
a Hirose Electric Group type U.FL
However this link

suggests that they are the same.

Best to ask the ebay seller,they should be able to tell you for sure.

is there some kind of socket or holder for the SIM300 that can make it easier for soldering?
I tried asking the ppl at my lab, but they don't do surface soldering.

If there is, what is it called?
